Another Devon Story

Okay, I'll keep this short and sweet. It just struck me that I've been too negative lately, especially about desis (with good reason btw). But every now and then I come across something or remember something that reaffirms my faith and warms the cockles of my heart.

This particular incident occured about a year ago at a grocery store on Devon Ave. As usual I was quite shabbily dressed, hadn't shaved or done any sort of grooming work on myself for a week etc etc, so there were people left and right mistaking me for a store boy.

One lady who approached me - middle aged, sari clad and quite innocent looking - just knocked mah socks off. She wanted to know if we had any whipping cream (y'know, not whipped cream - which is cream that has been whipped but whipping cream which, I guess, is the cream that is applied just before a whipping).

Well... er... ... this is a family store ma'am. There are kids present. But I know a couple-a stores downtown, "Cupid's Treasure" for one, which might give satisfaction.

Yee-Ha. Romance isn't dead, fellas ! Indians can swing with the best of them.

My apt mate had an interesting observation to make about the whipping cream - it's the cream that's applied before/after a creaming.
